Ever since losing to Jon Jones, he hasn’t been the same fighter. He was on a tear working his way up the rankings, and then Jones stole his mojo, or he’s just psychologically messed up. Seems like he’s lost his confidence. His fight against Glover he fell apart, and he looked bad! Even his fight against Gus, in which he won, he didn’t look all that impressive bc Gus looked bad too!

Yeah, when the fight is not going his way, he seems to fight to survive rather than to win. He is tough for sure, don't want to take that away from him.

I agree with you. Prolly fucked his head up that he couldnt submit the guy via punches or a submission hold. Def PTSD.

I disagree, I think he looked good against Gus. He's always been a fringe top 10 guy but his chin and toughness gets him wins against top 5 competition. He looked great against Glover and then he gassed, we all know what happened in that fight. This fight I feel like he took too early after the Glover fight, and I think that showed tonight.

He should have said he can't continue after the Bones knee...lowest fight IQ in the UFC IMO.

He was considered a journeyman before coming to the UFC. Then he found himself on a impressive run, lost the title fight and hasn't looked as good.

He didn't look motivated or prepared tonight.

He has seemed extremely listless for these last 2 fights. Part of it may be him coming back down to earth after being a career fringe contender who was suddenly elevated to a much higher level after beating Oezdemir. But he hasn't looked good and may want to take several months off and re-evaluate his approach if he wants to continue his career.

He has 16 losses on his record so maybe it just is who he is. Past two fights have not been a great look, but then again I wouldn’t want to get punched in the face by Glover either.

He honestly looks like he had low T when he walked into the cage.  His body and overall demeanor.

His Jon Jones performance was so bad. He talked a lot about dying in the ring but he literally did nothing.

I've never thought he was that good. He has overachieved in the sport.

Not saying this to trash him, becoming the #1 contender is amazing.

Jones took his soul in their fight and he's never been able to get it back.

He fought a mentally unstable home invader just prior to his last loss against Glover...then that loss was pretty devastating physically, and yes, maybe he should've taken more time off before this Rakic fight.

He merely shows how weak LHW is, no disrespect cause he’s tough as hell, but he’s always been an average fighter. In the LHW division that’s usually enough to get you to the top!

Now Jones has gone, no one at LHW has anywhere close to the skill set of anyone Top 12 at, say, BW.

9. Sandhagen

10. Rivera

11. Faber

12. Assencao

Reyes & Blackowicz are nowhere NEAR the level of skillset of any of those guys. LHW sucks

If Jon really is finished in the division then I could see Jiri Prochazka getting the belt and going through contenders like a hot knife through butter.

100% this.

That Jon Jones performance was a huge let down given what he’d been saying.

I think he realised where he actually was amongst his peers at that point and lost confidence.

Bellator bound now.

I thought it was glover that took it but you are right. Jones likely has it and refused it give it back

He’s talented for sure but it almost seems he put everything he had into that title run.

Yeah he’s a textbook example of an overachiever.

Guy has nearly 50 fights and is only 32.  He knows how hard it is to get to the top.  Since his time there was short lived, hes simply tired and would benefit from some time off.  But again, seeing that hes fought 50 times and is 32 years old, that's obviously not his He definitely fought like a guy who needed a paycheck rather than someone who wanted to be a champion last night.

I hope he gets back on track because hes top 3 on all time toughest fighters I've seen.  Despite looking unmotivated,  he's tough as fuck.

Lawler looked like he's lost his fire. Age blablabla is such a lame reason. He has lost that angst that made him a beast.

While seems to me Smith just got handled by a superior fighter. It happens. Those leg kicks in round 1 were BRUTAL
