UFC uses new legal tool to block pirate site
The UFC has claimed its first knock out against a site that streamed its events without permission in Russia. The preliminary blocking injunction follows cooperation between the league and local telecoms watchdog Roscomnadzor, with help from the Moscow City Court. It's believed to be the first blocking injunction to have an infringing site blocked at the ISP level ever obtained by the UFC to tackle Internet piracy. Should the site continue infringing the UFC’s rights, the company will be able to return to the Moscow City Court to obtain a permanent injunction, one that will place the domain on Russia’s national blacklist. h/t Torrent Freak

Several fighters still unpaid from Battlefield FC 2 on 7/27 in China
It took a year for everyone, including Sarah Kaufman and Jessica-Rose Clark, to get paid for Battlefield FC 1, and it's apparently happening again. Gleison Tibau says he has yet to receive $50,000 for his win over Will Brooks, who likewise hasn't been paid. Bryan Caraway, Wagner Prado, Julio Cesar Neves, Kaik Brito, and Vanessa Melo are also unpaid. Adding to the chaos, Veteran ref Steve Perceval pulled out of the event after he failed to secure payment from the promotion before leaving on his flight, and there was some controversial officiating. UFC vet Wagner Prado, who tore his ACL and meniscus in his right knee and needs surgery and got a controversial draw, ably summed it up: “These guys shouldn’t be allowed to do events anymore.” h/t MMA Fighting

Cris Cyborg to Bellator MMA?
Cyborg wouldn’t say where she was signing but she may have let it slip accidentally. When discussing moving on to the next phase of her career, and explaining that leaving the UFC was natural because she had already done that with other organizations in the past, Cyborg accidentally interjected “Bellator” before quickly correcting herself and saying “not yet”. ... “I’ve passed through many cycles already and in a cycle there is always beginning, middle, and end. Invicta had an end Bellator - no, [laughing] not Bellator yet - the UFC had a beginning, middle, and end. Strikeforce. So I’m starting a new cycle. I’m happy, anxious, looking forward to starting. It’s good to start new projects and I’m looking forward to that.”
Cain Velasquez 'shocked' at reaction to rasslin debut, UFC return uncertain
“I was kind of shocked to be honest. I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t sure how many people would actually be watching and tuning in to watch. I did a match and heard all the positive things from people. It was great. I was shocked. The whole night I was asking my wife, ‘What just happened?’ For me, I know what I can do and I feel like learning wrestling for the short time that I’ve learned it, it feels very natural to me. I loved it. I love going out there and competing and I can’t wait to do more of it. I’ve always loved MMA as well from when I started doing it until now. I’m still training and I still love it, so I’m not sure if I’m done yet. ... I do plan on coming back to fight as well, but at this moment I’m just having too much fun doing this pro wrestling. I can’t wait to go out there and perform again and try to be one of the best guys out there that has ever done pro wrestling.” h/t MMA Junkie
Miau vows to retire 'The Predator' at BRAVE CF 25
turned into anger, as the BRAVE CF world Lightweight champion vowed to end his opponent Cleiton "Predator" Silva's career when the two meet at the main event of BRAVE 25, set for August 30th, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Luan was visibly irritated with the last round of the challenger's thrash talk, as Cleiton claimed he was a "runner" and had never fought someone like him. The two have turned their bout into one of Brazilian MMA's biggest rivalries: "The Predator is fiction, pure fiction. It doesn't exist. And after I'm done with Cleiton, he won't exist either. I'm going to show him who's the king of the jungle. He says he owns Belo Horizonte, but I've fought here before and I have my own supporters here. The king of the jungle is the lion, and he's a feline. I'm going to show his bum style doesn't work on me, I'm going to hurt him. Predator, you are old, and I'm going to retire you on Friday night. Get ready." BRAVE 25 streams live on FITE.tv on Saturday.

Dana White: Darren Till insisted on Kelvin Gastelum fight
There was criticism when it was announced that Till would be fighting Gastelum at UFC 244 on 11/2. Till won 17 a row but now is on a 2-fight losing streak at welterweight, to killers Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal, and at risk of burnout at 26. Gastelum is a killer too, at middleweight, but the UFC president said they tried to talk 'The Gorilla' out of it: “We did. Yes, we did. ‘That’s the fight I want.’ We went to him and said, ‘You sure this is the fight you want?’ He’s moving up. ‘You sure the Gastelum fight?’ ‘That’s the fight I want.’ So, love it.”
Jessica Andrade's two-part plan
Andrade makes her first title defense vs. Weili Zhang in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 15 on Saturday in Shenzhen, China, but she's thinking ahead, too: “My focus is to beat Weili Zhang and continue to defend in the future. Also, I’d like to move to flyweight for a superfight against Valentina Shevchenko. I think she’s one of the toughest and best fighters of all time. I believe she beat Amanda Nunes [at UFC 215]. I like her very much, but it would be very cool if I faced her next. ... Weili Zhang is a very tough opponent. She’s undefeated in the UFC. We have a common opponent in Tecia Torres. It’s going to be a difficult fight. I can’t go easy on her. I have to remain focused and in tune with my strategy. She’s good when striking as well as on the ground. She doesn’t have a wide variety of submissions, but she moves well. She has good ground-and-pound and very good hip tosses.” h/t MMA Junkie
Harvard study: Erectile dysfunction linked to concussions
Research has linked concussions to all sorts of health problems, including cognitive issues, dementia, and depression. Now, a study published Monday in the journal JAMA Neurology concludes that former NFL players with histories of concussions were more likely to experience erectile dysfunction and low testosterone levels than other football players. The study followed previous research that suggested head trauma is associated with sexual dysfunction in men, possibly due to damage to the pituitary gland. h/t Philly Voice

Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos: Feels like US fighters get better fights
Brazil's Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos is on a 7-fight win streak. Of his 8 UFC fights, three were FOTN, and his last three fights ended by RNC, flying knee and punches, and spinning heel kick. The bad news is he sees an unfortunate pattern followed by his employer: “I don’t know why non-American fighters are seen differently. But I think I’m doing my part. I’m putting on good fights. Sooner or later, I’ll have the chance to face someone ranked above me.” Elizeu fights Jingliang Li at UFC on ESPN+ 15 on Saturday in Shenzen. China. h/t MMA Junkie

Tyron Woodley to train with Diaz brothers?
“At one point in time, I really wanted to fight Nate, not because I thought he was weak, not because I thought it was an easy fight or I wanted his clout. I thought he was a beast, I thought Nate was a beast, I thought GSP was a beast, Bisping was a beast, Carlos Condit. That’s why I wanted to fight those guys. Now I’m in a position where it does not make sense for me probably to fight them. ... I’m thinking about reaching out and training [with them]. What ya’ll think about that? I’m training with GSP here soon. I already started training with Firas [Zahabi] a couple of sessions. What do y’all think about me training with Nate or Nick?” h/t BJPenn.com
